This intimate urban oasis demonstrates how thoughtful design can maximize even a limited footprint to create a luxurious backyard retreat. Working within strict city regulations and space constraints, we transformed this modest urban lot into a sophisticated outdoor living space that seamlessly integrates all the elements the homeowners desired.

This design centers around a carefully proportioned swimming pool that strikes the perfect balance between recreational functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Adjacent to the pool, a spillover spa creates a soothing soundtrack of cascading water. The outdoor cabana with its cozy fireplace provides a year-round relaxation space.

Timeless atmosphere

The traditional architectural elements of the custom cabana echo the home’s classic design language, creating a visual continuity between the indoor and outdoor spaces. We equipped the cabana with modern amenities, including efficient heaters that extend its usability well into the cooler months.

Backyard by Design’s skilled lightscaping and design makes the wood, stone, pool, and waterfalls take on new life when the sun goes down. Natural materials and traditional detailing throughout the space create a timeless atmosphere that will age gracefully while complementing the existing architecture.
